I’m Lily.

I’m a Londoner living in Dubai with my cat, Kit.

I’m half British and half Iranian, a typical Virgo, a cat rescuer and a qualified lawyer.

I started teaching yoga in 2019. My first yoga job fresh out of my 200 hours teacher training was at a chain of gyms in Dubai. It was during this time that I cultivated a passion for teaching beginners and those new to a yoga practice. These days I teach group and private classes. My teaching focuses on how yoga makes us feel, and how the way we move our bodies on the mat can transform and improve our lives off of the mat.

I’ve written a blog for almost 13 years, starting out as a fashion and beauty blogger while studying for my law degree. The early days of “LilyLipstick” were some of the best. These days I blog about yoga, building a sustainable lifestyle, and life in Dubai.

I moved to Dubai in early 2017, and five years later I’m still here. Since leaving London I feel like I’ve had multiple lifetimes – from corporate law, to full time yoga teaching to a global pandemic. It’s been the biggest adventure and I have truly grown-up in the last 5 years.

During 2019,  I studied with IIN, the Institute of Integrative Nutrition, to delve deeper into health, wellness and nutrition. Viewing wellness in a holistic way was a revelation – drinking all the green juice in the world and practicing yoga for two hours a day won’t make a difference if the rest of your life is wildly out of balance.

In summer 2019 I completed my RYT200 Hours yoga teacher training in Ubud, Bali – my favourite place on earth. I’ve since done a further six (and counting!) teacher trainings and don’t think I’ll ever be done. All my yoga blog posts can be found here. This path has meant connecting with the most amazing people, learning so much about myself and having experiences that I could never even have imagined.
